Essential Info

A high-power blast IR emitter that can be used to blast IR signals up to about 35 feet when used with Smarthome Design brand products. Use multiple emitters together to increase range or give better coverage within a room. To install, simply drill a small hole and push fit or use a dab of glue to hold it in place.

    The best range will be obtained when connected to an output that do not use 'current limiting resistors' like these products:

    • X10 to IR Controller

    • Computer-Controllable Learning IR Remote
    When used with IR connecting blocks, which do use current limiting resistors, the range will be significantly less.

    Use a fibre washer, or several thin mylar washers on the plug to space it out the small amount necessary to get the proper contact in the socket. Just slide the washer onto the mini plug and plug in normally. NO metal washers!

    For future customers: If you have a Bose Lifestyle sound system and you need a stronger IR emitter, this one will work for you. Don't push the plug all the way in however, the plug is just slightly too big. In order for it to work properly it must be only about 90 -95% pluged in. Hope this helps.
