Essential Info
IR signal distribution systems make it possible to control components without line-of-sight access to them, through cabinet doors or even in other rooms of your home. But the stick-on IR emitters that deliver your IR signals to the components will occasionally allow external IR signals to pass through or leak past, sometimes even affecting other components in your system. This situation is easily remedied by attaching a Mouse Emitter Shield Cover onto the problem Xantech mouse emitter shell. Xantech stick-on IR emitters and hardwired IR signal distribution systems are sold separately.

The Mouse Emitter Shield Cover is a black (IR opaque) shield that fits over both the Xantech Mouse Emitter shell and the IR sensor window of a controlled component, preventing unwanted external IR signals from passing through it or leaking past it. The Mouse Emitter Shield Cover also prevents IR from the Mouse Emitter from radiating backward into the IR sensors of other components. It is especially useful for zone-controlled applications where you want the equipment to be controlled only by the Mouse Emitter fastened over the component's IR sensors.
Since the adhesive tape covers the entire backing of the shield, the Mouse Emitter Shield Cover can be trimmed to fit closely over the equipment's IR sensor window if desired.
