Turn any AC outlet on and off in controlled or automated systems using the Controlled AC Outlet w/IR Control, which is capable of switching up to 15 amps of continuous current to a single device or power strip. This IR- or voltage-controlled switched outlet can be switched on and off by any one of three control sources: low-voltage AC or DC, NTSC Video and IR code.

How it WorksWhen the Controlled AC Outlet w/IR Control receives 5 to 30 volts AC or DC, the devices switches the AC outlet on, providing a convenient means to manage the power on/off status of A/V components in a multi-zone system that can remember their "on" condition when their power cords are unplugged. When the AC outlet is switched ON by a control voltage, video sync or IR code, the Controlled AC Outlet w/IR Control delivers a constant +12 VDC output, which can be used to drive other voltage controlled devices, such as an Controlled AC Outlet or a second Controlled AC Outlet w/IR Control.
Control Using Video or IR SignalsUsing the unit's RCA-type jack, a circuit can be triggered when the presence of NTSC sync represents a power ON condition, allowing direct loop-through to a monitor, ideal for use if a second video output jack is not available on the video source. A 3.5mm mono mini jack input accepts standard IR signals from the emitter output jacks of Xantech connecting blocks and controllers, using RC68+ IR commands (programmer sold separately).
Delay Switch Protects Circuit BreakersThe Controlled AC Outlet w/IR Control allows you to delay the turn ON of the switched outlet over a range of 0.05 second to 60 seconds by use of the delay switch. This prevents high simultaneous inrush currents from overloading AC power circuit breakers. Additional features include flanges and supplied screws, which permit easy mounting to flat surfaces. This Controlled Outlet may also be programmed easily using Xantech's RC68+ Programmer / Remote.
