I purchased 3 of these volume controls for different areas of my house. The good news is that these products do what they advertise -- control volume. I have some pet peeves with these products, though. First, the instructions are very cryptic and difficult to follow. They show how to connect 2 sets of speakers, and 4...but not 3. But most importantly, I don't like the slider. You would expect it to work with a smooth slide action, much like a lighting slider dimmer. It has discrete gradations and clicks as you move the slider. That's not so bad -- modern receiver volume controls rotating work that way. But the problem is that the tension on the slider is very tight. It takes a lot of force to move the slider, and when it does move, it quickly jumps several gradations. In short, the slider action is difficult to control. I find myself having to brace my wrist against the wall and apply leverage to move the slider one increment at a time.
