To achieve true digital audio reproduction, the best cable connections to use is either coaxial or optical. Unfortunately, some components use one connection and some components use the other making this cable connection impossible. The solution is to use Xantech's Optical to Coaxial Digital Audio Coupler which allows you to use the optical audio cable output connection from a source component (DVD, CD player, cable TV receiver, satellite TV receiver, etc.) and convert it to a coaxial audio cable input connection on your destination component (digital receiver, digital audio distribution device, speakers, TV, etc.) The Optical to Coaxial Digital Audio Coupler is a powered device (6VDC, 200mA power supply included) that provides an easy to install, clean approach to converting S/PDIF digital audio signals from optical to coaxial format. This product will require the use of a coaxial cable and an optical cable with RCA style ends between the coupler and the components, these cables are sold separately. The Optical to Coaxial Digital Audio Coupler can be mounted several ways:
The large base area is perfect for Velcro or double-sided foam adhesive
Two side screws can also be used for mounting
Side tabs with 1.25" spacing is convenient for rack mount applications
