Essential Info

The Xantech DL85K Plasma/LCD/LED/CFL Proof Designer Dinky Link IR Receiver Kit features a small IR receiver that has been designed for mounting in very small spaces. They may be mounted under shelf edges, cabinet ledges, in wall speakers etc. - anywhere an inconspicuous appearance is desired. The high sensitivity of the receiver allows it to be placed behind speaker grills and still recieve IR commands up to 80ft away. It works with all types of cable boxes, satellite boxes and TV's. Its proprietary ambient noise-supression technology enables reliable operation in any lighting environment including compact flourescents.

Xantech IR Receivers, Xantech Connecting Blocks, IR Emitters, and 12V DC Power Supplies are each sold separately as well if needed for expanding or in the rare case that a part needs replaced.

Note: This item is not compatible with the AT&T U-verse cable boxes model VIP1200.

Update as of 04/04/11: Xantech has confirmed the DL85K Plasma/LCD/LED/CFL Proof Designer Dinky Link IR Receiver Kit will work with the AT&T U-Verse Cable Box model VIP1200. To this date, Xantech has not found ANY cable box, receiver, or other A/V component that the DL85K does not work with.

even though it said that it was LCD proof. This still had some interference when the tv first starts. Otherwise this is the most responsive ir repeater I've owned. I have had four others and do like the hard wired versions better. This one I had to use telephone wire to get the receiver where I wanted but it worked perfectly

This did exactly what I wanted to do and looks nice. I have it attached to a plasma in a room with fluorescent lights, aimed at a big window with hot afternoon sun and it works flawlessly. I use it in conjunction with a 50' extension cable (Item #8186). It's trivial to set up (color coded connections, etc.). I think Xantech has done a very nice job with this product!

This product worked very well for me. I'm using an LCD TV and have a CFL lamp in the room about 10 feet from the TV. I installed the IR receiver on the top edge of my 60" LCD TV (Sharp Aquos model) and ran a CAT5 wire (cheap) about 35 feet to my equipment room. Since the CAT5 has extra wires, I doubled up, using both wires of three pairs for each of the three connections from the receiver to the connection block. The receiver completely disappears against the black frame of the TV. The LED talk-back light is helpful, and is the only reminder that this device is installed. The connection block and emitters were very easy and quick to install, and the results are excellent. I have control of my equipment from at least 25' away (might be farther, but my room is only so big). Response is great, and I now can control a very problematic device that was quite unresponsive using a different IR repeater system.

It's working perfectly in my outdoor kitchen patio system. It can get quite bright from being outdoors but the Dinky receiver still performs. My only complaint would be the thickness, or diameter, of the receiver's connector. It's extreemly large compared to the cable diameter and required about a 1/2 inch hole in order to pass it thru the cabinet.

Works perfectly, even across the room from a wall of windows. I'm finally able to use my remotes for my components stored in a closet in the back of my great room, and I can't detect any delay or signal lag as some folks have mentioned.
