I have had mine for a month or two. The initial setup was no problem, but I had difficulty in maintaining a wireless connection. After returning two of them for exchanges at Global Cache they were quite willing to replace them, the technician and I realized that my router was disconnecting the unit. After a reduction in baud rate, which basically returned the router to B/G Mode I guessconnection has not been a problem. I would agree that placement of the remote I.E.,WF2IR 'IR learning port'is critical and that sometimes the remote will have to be turned upside down for commands to be recognized. Not noted by others is the fact that the PC will make a ding when command learned, which is a help in recognizing capture. Works very well, as far as commands received.

Great device, reliable wi-fi signal, never seems to miss a command
    AMR -- cairo, Egypt   8/12/2013
Tough to setup and use however dose what it's intended to do
    FLORANTE F -- kent, WA   8/7/2013

First let me say that the product itself is solid and functional. Unfortunately, when I first ordered the WF2IR they shipped the wrong model (WF2IP) so I had to return it and wait... the correct model finally showed up about a month and a half after the original order, and I got to work. As others have noted, the IR receiver on the unit (for learning IR signals) is ridiculously small and difficult to access. I also completed the set-up of the device, and after saving a few IR signals, tried to test the outgoing IR from the blaster. Nothing. I will continue some research to make sure I'm doing evereything correctly, but right now I can't get the unit to transmit a single IR signal. Also, Smarthome would do themselves a huge favor if they developed some simple android/apple applications for control of the WF2IR once it's linked to your network.
    HILTON GARDEN I -- cupertino, CA   5/27/2013
Excellent product, easy to setup and very stable and responsive. Installs in a couple of minutes, good DIY guides on manufacturer's web site. Nice support, too... would be great if they take this little gadget beyond its current limits.

The wireless Itach is probably as good a device for controlling components as the wired version. However, it's Achilles heel is that operates using the outmoded B network protocol at 11Mbps. In my case, I would have had to degrade my network performance to be able to communicate with it. As a result, I returned it for the ethernet version which works flawlessly.
DANE -- san diego, CA   5/22/2013
Good solid product. Very carefully used an X-Acto knife to make IR learner hole bigger to make learning IR signals easier on the device.
GUSTAVO FERREIR -- pembroke pines, FL   5/12/2013
    Okey
    NEIL -- laurel, MD   5/9/2013
Works as well as the IP2IR, only wirelessly.
    SLAVA -- calgary, AB   5/6/2013
Very good and useful device! I have installed it together with Touchsquid app and everything works well. Thank you for your service, cheap and fast shipping.
    Steve G -- sparta, NJ   4/18/2013
Superb product, within an hour of getting it home I was controlling my TV from my ipad using Command Fusion software. It took an hour because i had to learn the IR codes for my tv. As some have said on here it is not a plug and play, you need some networking experience and be able to use some none self explanatory software. If you are willing to play around and learn how to use this you will be very pleased.

i am a a/v installer and work with many products that fall short of their proclaimed performance, so i am very happy to use this product because it work flawlessly and is very flexible. i did not find any problem programming ir commands but again i am very experienced. setup was fairly easy on this unit however if you are not tech savy it may be a little challenging but do-able. i am using it on a mini ipad and love the fact that i can stick all other remotes in a drawer. i am also using Insteon to control house lights and the Nest thermostat control, i can control everything from bed.
    LORRIN -- olympia, WA   3/23/2013
A little hard to set up and understand. But overall after heavy reading it is usable
RICHARD -- sharon hill, PA   3/19/2013
Great product when converting wifi to ir. However, it may be a little challenging to setup if you are not a networking type person. Also: If you try to use the IR Learning feature, the "IR receiver eye" is disgracefully, badly engineered, poorly located, stuffed inside the "receiver eye's hole" and it WILL NOT receive a signal. I and one other person I spoke with had to take the box/enclosure apart to expose the "receiver eye" on the motherbooard, aim a remote control directly at it in order for it to receive the ir signal from a remote.
    RAZVAN -- padbury, Australia   3/18/2013
It does what is it supposed to do, and installation was very easy. It took me a while to find the right software for my Android phone - I am now using mbhRemote and it works great. I am controlling my A/C unit remotely, so when I get home the house is nice and cool.
    TONY -- tucson, AZ   3/15/2013
works well with iRule, iPhone and Android tablet for remote control.
    JAMES -- cortland, NY   3/10/2013
Awesome if you have the time to figure it out. Go straight to Google to find out how to do what you want, especially if you would like your ISY99i or ISY994i to send IR commands to it. Among other things, they should tell you up front that port three (and only port three) is an IR blaster
    ALAZARI -- saint-petersburg, XX   2/28/2013
Excellent product, got it setup in few minutes, working with Vera controller.
