Essential Info
Many new homes and office buildings already contain structured cabling systems of not only electrical and phone wiring, but also inexpensive cat. 5 twisted pair cable, which is commonly used as a data line. Take maximum advantage of this existing wiring by adding baluns to each end. These small transformers convert composite audio and video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for transmission between different wiring systems. Additionally, these baluns will also support an IR signal transmission. The package includes an IR receiver and an IR emitter, so you can not only send a signal over long distances, but control the source device as well. Signals can be sent up to 1000 feet using inexpensive Cat. 5/5e, Cat. 6, Cat. 7 and Cat. 8 wiring between the baluns, rather than rewiring your home in order to send signals from room to room. These Point to Point Extender Baluns are sold in pairs and are designed to work together. Composite RCA video and audio cables are sold separately.
