Essential Info

A home theater doesn't need to be a cluttered, crowded area. The Harmony 890 RF Color Remote not only controls 15 devices, thus replacing your existing remotes, it sends radio-frequency (RF) signals in addition to infrared (IR) signals, so you can keep your stacks of components behind cabinet or closet doors up to 100 feet away. Just press one of the Activity buttons, and the Harmony 890 RF Color Remote automatically sets up your entire entertainment system, even pressing Play, and it turns off components not required for your selected activity. The color LCD screen provides for easy control, and the remote is even rechargeable, so you won't need to be replacing batteries constantly.

With a wireless range of up to 100 feet, the Harmony 890 remote sends RF commands to a wireless receiver, which then blasts infrared signals to the components. You can even add extra receivers for even greater range or to control multiple entertainment systems. The Harmony 890's color LCD is both functional and stylish, with user-customizable backgrounds, button icons and text. There is ample space for up to eight custom activities or controls, and the on-screen battery level indicator even shows you the status of its charge. The Harmony 890 RF Color Remote supports thousands of brands and products, so with a single remote, you'll be able to control 15 devices, including televisions, plasmas, projectors, DVRs, PVRs, laserdisc players, satellites, cable boxes, amplifiers, receivers, VCRs, DVD players, computers, and even lighting controls! Colorful icons accompany text on the LCD screen to allow for quick and easy command of home-entertainment equipment and household appliances that may be out of range for a traditional infrared remote.

The Harmony 890 is simple to set up: Connect your remote to your computer via the included USB cable. Enter your equipment model numbers and answer questions about how you watch TV or listen to music. The Harmony Setup Wizard walks you through the process, step by step. Automatic updates are available through the Harmony website, as well.

The Harmony 890 RF Color Remote puts you in control of your entire audio-video system. Optimized for complicated HDTV and PVR systems, the Harmony 890 helps you tame tough configurations like switching your television between video aspect ratios depending on the program source. The interactive color display lets you quickly choose a 16:9 ratio for movies and HDTV, or a standard 4:3 ratio for basic television programming.

You won't be constantly restocking your battery supply when this remote is adorning your coffee table. The Harmony 890 includes a sleek docking station that keeps the remote's included rechargeable lithium-ion battery fully charged. The remote will work for a week without recharging under normal use, but the included docking station allows remote to be used while charging.

Designed with brushed chrome and charcoal accents, a color LCD display and a low-profile recharging station, the Harmony 890 RF Color Remote will complement your most advanced audio-video components. Featuring a comfort grip shape and a centered directional pad, it fits easily in your hand and naturally guides you to the most frequently used controls. "Had some doubt about all in one device, but needed something with RF to get through cabinet. Took a while to program, but not hard. Actually works much better than expected for macros. Best part is that does NOT need to be pointed at devices for 20 seconds like IR remotes. People would sometimes push macro button then turn remote in different direction causing on one half of things to be turned on messing up the whole process. This remote works great!
