Essential Info

Radio-frequency remote controls send radio waves in every direction, but they require an RF base station to get signals to the components if they are not within direct line of sight of the electronic equipment. The MRF-300 Multi-Zone Base Station receives RF signals and transfers them to your components, leaving you free to use your remote almost anywhere in the house. The MRF-300 Multi-Zone Base Station works with the Home Theater Master Color Touchscreen Remote MX-3000, the TX-1000 Medius Addressable Remote, the MX-950 Aurora RF/IR Programmable Remote, or the MX-850 Orion IR/RF PC Program Remote (each sold separately). If you're just getting started, these components can be purchased together as a kit. Choose the MX-3000 and MRF-300, the MX-950 and MRF-300, or the MX-850 and MRF-300 kit.

The MRF-300's built-in front blaster sends commands to components in the same cabinet space. Six self-adhesive "flashers" affix to the infrared sensors on the front panels of your components, relaying commands to components out of sight of the front blaster. If your remote is out of range of the base station, it can still work: The MRF-300 also receives RF signals via the included RFX-150 antenna, which provides coverage of up to 100 feet in normal conditions and can be mounted up to 150 feet away. Additional RFX-150 antennas are sold separately, and up to four can be used in a single home.

The base station can be mounted to a wall or cabinet with all jacks facing up, so that accidental unplugging is avoided. One RFX-150 antenna is included with the unit, but additional antennas are sold separately. Perfect for use with Multi-zone systems, the MRF-300 allows up to three separate antenna locations throughout your home.

The MRF-300 base station is an "addressable" base station. RF Addressing gives you the ability to control as many as 90 identical components throughout a house. In cases where devices are prone to IR emitter overload, the MRF-300 can adjust for reduced IR emitter output so that devices like TiVo, satellite and cable boxes are not oversaturated.

What to do if you have equipment located in different locations in your home? You can operate up to 15 different equipment locations, each with an MRF-300 assigned a unique Receiver ID number. You program each of your remotes to talk to a specific equipment location. You can even control an array of identical components or zones.

The MRF-300 Multi-Zone Base Station will also work with the Osiris MX-350 RF Remote Control and the Omega MX-650 IR/RF Remote.
