The MSC-400 Master System Controller combines RF communication technology, redundancy, error-correction algorithms, and advanced engineering to make sure every remote control signal is delivered every time. If you are planning to use the MSC-400 Master System Controller in your home theater system, you can get started easily with the Starter Kit for MSC-400 Master System Controller. This kit includes six IR emitters, two video and two voltage sensors, and two DB9 cables to connect serial components. The MSC-400 Master System Controller is sold separately from this starter kit.

How the Universal Remote Control System WorksInstead of separately turning on the TV, turning on the DVD player, changing the input, and turning on the receiver, the MSC-400 Master System Controller chains these commands together in the proper sequence in a macro, letting you perform all of these commands with a single button press on your MX-3000, MX-950, TX-1000, or MX-900 universal remote control (each sold separately).
Starter Kit Components Expand Universal Remote Control System's CapabilitiesThe MSC-400 Master System Controller comes with one RFX-250 RF receiver, and the Starter Kit includes another; up to three can be connected. Since each RFX-250 typically gives 50-100 feet of range, huge estates can be given robust, reliable RF via a network of wired RF receivers. Two video sensor cables and two voltage sensors are included in the kit, as well. When connected, they allow the MSC-400 Master System Controller to test the status of the devices it controls and issue commands accordingly. In other words, it finds out whether your TV is on or off before sending a power signal as part of a macro. The MSC-400 Master System Controller will control up to 12 devices via IR (or 6 IR and 6 RS-232). Six IR emitters are included with the MSC-400, and six sleeved IR emitters are included in the Starter Kit along with two RS232 cables (one with a female DB9 connector and one with a male DB9 connector).
