If you already own or plan to purchase an IR to RF to IR Remote Control Range Extender Kit, 418 MHz, you can use your existing IR remote control to control audio/video (A/V) components from up to 100 feet away, even through walls and doors. The kit converts the infrared signal from the (IR) remote control you are accustomed to into a radio frequency (RF) signal, giving it long range capabilities. The kit only includes the ability to convert one remote control, so if you want to add a second remote, you don't need to purchase another kit, just purchase this Extra RF Transmitter. It will work with any remote control using AA or AAA batteries (a AA battery sleeve adapter is included). This transmitter uses the 418 MHz RF frequency, and will only work with the IR to RF Remote Control Range Extender Kit, 418 MHz. An IR to RF to IR Remote Control Range Extender Kit, 433 MHz and Extra RF Transmitter for the IR to RF to IR Remote Control Range Extender Kit, 433 MHz are sold separately.

Just replace one of the batteries in your existing remote with this transmitter. A rechargeable battery fits inside of an AAA sized transmitter. Exchange the transmitter for a AAA battery in your remote (or use the sleeve adapter if the remote uses AA batteries). The transmitter converts the remote control's infrared signals to radio frequency signals that can travel through walls and doors. These signals go to the base adapter included in the AC powered IR to RF Remote Control Range Extender Kit, which is placed facing the components you wish to control. The receiver then converts the signals back to IR signals and sends them to your components, all in a fraction of a second.
