The Sony MDR-NC500D noise canceling headphones use a new groundbreaking technology to digitally reduce noise for your listening pleasure. These innovative headphones more accurately reduce stress-inducing noise from planes, trains and buses while providing the high-quality audio expected from Sony. Up to 99% of ambient noise can be reduced at 160Hz due to the artificial intelligent noise canceling circuitry which selects between three different environmental modes to best suit your surroundings. The built in Lithium-ion battery provides up to 16 hours of continued use with the option of up to 28 hours of continued use with standard AA batteries. Convenient accessories are supplied including an in-flight audio plug adapter, premium carrying case and AC power adapter for charging the internal battery.

The Sony Noise Canceling Headphones feature Sony exclusive artificial intelligence noise cancelling technology that automatically selects between three different environment modes to best isolate you from the noise around you. With tiny microphones built into the top of each ear cup, the headphones can 'listen' to your surroundings and make the appropriate adjustment to tune out the unwanted background distractions. Ambient sound is synthesized with an anti-sound signal produced by the noise-canceling circuit and reduced.
Whether you are listening to Bach or Beck the frequency response of 5 to 22,000 Hz ensures that you don't miss the slightest nuance of your music. The noise canceling feature truly isolates you from your surrounds so that all that you hear is your music in perfect form.
Neodymium magnets are used to deliver powerful sound. They are not only efficient, but they are also lightweight allowing the complete set of headphones to weigh less than 7 ounces.
