Calrad’s 40-BT3 Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter has a 3.5mm stereo input plug that can easily connect to portable audio devices for wireless Bluetooth audio playback. Play music or media content from any device with a 3.5mm headphone jack up to 35 feet away. The distance may vary with surroundings. Listen to you audio in comfort without a wired connection, includes USB charging cable as well. This transmitter works with USB power or by battery power. For a complete Bluetooth solution add the Calrad Electronics Bluetooth Receiver to go along with your Bluetooth transmitter, receiver sold separately.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
This profile defines how high quality audio (stereo or mono) can be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection. A2DP is designed to transfer a uni-directional 2-channel stereo audio stream, like music from a device wit A2DP support to a receiver with A2DP support.
A2DP relies on AVDTP and GAVDP. It includes mandatory support for the low-complexity SBC codec (not to be confused with Bluetooth's voice-signal codecs such as CVSDM), and supports optionally: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AAC, and ATRAC, and is extensible to support manufacturer-defined codecs, such as apt-X. Some Bluetooth stacks enforce the SCMS-T digital rights management (DRM) scheme. In these cases, it is impossible to connect certain A2DP headphones for high quality audio.
