Essential Info
The 5x1 HDMI Switcher with IR Receiver routes high-definition (HD) video (in resolutions up to 1080p) and digital audio from any one of the five sources to an HDTV, projector or other video display unit. Five inputs accommodate the simultaneous connection of up to five HD video sources, such as cable/satellite receivers, DVD players, Blu-ray players, gaming systems and other components with HDMI output. It solves the problem of having only one (or not enough) HDMI input(s) on your HDTV, since you can access five sources from the switcher; it's just like having five HDMI inputs on your TV.
The device features manual switching from one source to the next or it can also be controlled via the IR remote that is provided. A 3-foot external remote IR receiver is also provided so that the device can be hidden inside a cabinet, closet or other area close by. Alternatively, the device will automatically switch to new source signals when other input devices are turned on. A built-in set of LEDs identifies the active sources that are on. The compact design eliminates the bulk of atypical HDMI switcher while still having the same functionality. The 5x1 HDMI Switcher extends the range of HDMI compliant devices by equalizing and re-clocking the HDMI signal.

Intelligent Switching Built-in:
When any connected HDMI source devices are on and outputting Live HDMI signals to the switcher, the switcher will automatically select the 'Live' HDMI channel. If more than 2 HDMI source devices are outputting 'Live' HDMI signals in the same time, the switcher will automatically select the channel with a smaller channel number (Priority=Channel 1> Channel 2> Channel 3>Channel 4>, Channel 5>).
