This Calrad HDMI and IR Balun Kit is the perfect solution for sending an HDMI signal from an AV source component such as a cable/satellite TV receiver, Blu-ray player, PC, XBOX 360 or PS3, to an HDTV or other high-definition display or monitor - and transmitting an IR signal back to that component from the display. Simply connect the audio video signal source (equipped with an HDMI output) to the HDMI transmitter balun input using an
HDMI cable (sold separately). Then connect the HDMI transmitter balun to the HDMI receiver balun via dual-runs of
Cat 5e cable (also sold separately). Then connect the HDMI output from the HDMI receiver balun to the high-definition display. Lastly plug-in the power supply to the receiver balun. This kit features transmitter and receiver baluns that mount to your wall inside a single gang junction box, providing a clean, professional looking termination point for your HDMI cable run.
For IR ControlThese powered balun extenders have the capability of transporting IR signals over the Cat5e cables. These extenders can control the source from the display. This is accomplished by connecting the included IR receiver into the HDMI receiver balun, plugging the dual emitters into the transmitter baluns and attaching the emitters to the source component(s), up to two. The dual band surface mount IR receiver is CFL friendly and allows for installation compact fluorescent lighting. A blue IR confirmation LED blinks to let you know a signal has been received from your remote control.
