The Calrad 40-1076 HDMI 1080p with IR Decora-Style Wall Plate Balun/Extender allows a high-definition (1080i) signal to be sent from a video source component to an HDTV plasma, LCD LED and projection display located up to 175 feet away (100 feet for 1080p signals). Additionally, this balun set incorporates IR transmission, with an IR receiver input on the transmitter balun and two IR emitter outputs on the receiver balun; IR receiver and IR emitters (single or dual) sold separately. This IR feature allows you to use your IR remote control to send a signal to the IR receiver plugged into the receiver balun and out to the AV source components located near the transmitter balun using the emitters - keeping all of your cable runs and communication in-wall and out of sight. Simply connect inexpensive cat. 5 cable or inexpensive cat. 6 cable (each sold separately) between the transmitter and receiver baluns to send your HDMI and IR signals over long distances. You can even adjust the equalizer for different cable lengths to ensure the proper signal transmission. The Decora-style wall mount design of this balun set gives you a clean termination point for your HDMI cables and your IR components and will match other Decora-style outlets and switches in your home for consistent décor. Don't forget to add a matching trim plate.
