Essential Info
The Calrad 40-1072M HDMI 1080p 3D Balun/Extender is designed to deliver high-definition (HD) HDMI signal sources over two Cat 5e or Cat 6 UTP cables. HDMI cables are limited in length and will have signal degradation or loss over long distances. Additionally, trying to run HDMI cable inside a wall cavity is risky at best and is virtually impossible in many retrofit projects. By using baluns, you can alleviate both of these issues by connecting inexpensive cat. 5 cable or inexpensive cat. 6 cable (each sold separately) between the transmitter and receiver baluns, you can send a 1080p HDMI signal up to 100 feet from your source audio video component to your HDTV plasma, LCD LED and projection displays. This balun set is HDMI Version 1.3 Compliant and even transmits 3D signals (requires cat6 cable).
