Essential Info
The Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) has a specification which limits the approved HDMI cable length to 15 meters (approximately 50 feet.) for delivering a full HDTV signals. The HDMI In-line Signal Amplifier Dongle digital interface attaches to the display side connector of an HDMI cable and not only amplifies the signal but it cleans out any noise or digital artifacts from the data and retransmits the picture to the source display. The result is that a high definition video up to 1080p, compressed or uncompressed multi-channel audio, and intelligent format CEC command data can be delivered to 150 feet away from the source component all from one in-line adapter. No external power supply is required as the HDCP compliant amplifier with the adapter receives power from the connected HDMI cable while remaining entirely transparent to the source component and the display monitor. An LED power indicator even lets you know that the device is powered and working properly.

Signal Correction The two main causes of HDMI transmission degradation over cable are attenuation and propagation speed variations of the cable. Cable will attenuate the HD signal levels which can be observed by the reduced height of the EYE. A second effect is timing jitter which is due to the propagation speed difference of each frequency components of the HDMI signal. Both attenuation and timing jitter will cause bit errors in an HD signal. The byproduct of timing jitter and attenuation leads to Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI). The HDMI In-line Amplifier Dongle minimizes this problem to offer a clear signal between components.
What is HDMI? HDMI is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data. It represents a digital alternative to consumer analog standards, such as Radio Frequency (RF) coaxial cable, composite video, S-Video, SCART, component video, D-Terminal, and VGA. HDMI connects digital audio/video sources such as set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players, personal computers (PCs), video game consoles (such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), and AV receivers to compatible digital audio devices, computer monitors, and digital televisions. HDMI supports, on a single cable, any TV or PC video format, including standard, enhanced, and high-definition video; up to 8 channels of digital audio; and a Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) connection
