The combination of baluns and inexpensive Cat. 5 cable allow for the distribution of audio, video and power over long distances. Two of these
MuxLab Component Video/Analog Audio Square Baluns (each sold separately) can be used to connect a regular or HD video source with an analog audio output to your TV or monitor over long distances. Using component video cables and analog audio cables, each sold separately, connect one balun to a source component (cable or satellite receiver, Blu-ray player, or DVD player) and connect a second balun to your receiver (TV, HDTV or monitor). Once that is complete you can run Cat. 5 cable between the two. For standard definition component (480i/p) you can run the video feed up to 1,000 feet; high definition components (720p and 1080i/p) up to 500 feet, and analog audio up to 3,250 feet. This small transformer converts audio and video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems. For a professional finish, you can snap this Balun into a
MuxLab Wall Mount Fixture, sold separately.
If a female balun won't work for your installation, a
male Component Video/Analog Audio Square Balun, is also available. These two items can be mixed and matched to best suit your application.
Important Note: This product comes with a single balun, two baluns (a pair) and Cat. 5 UTP cable are required to complete a typical installation.
