This is exactly what I had been looking for. No more fighting about when to watch TV or play video games. Now when I want to turn it off I just push one button, not try wrestle the remote away from my son.

It's a shame. This could have been a great product, if somebody had only set brain on when programming it. The biggest problem is the automatic power off detection. It is designed to detect that you have turned off the TV, and when it does so, it shuts itself off. The problem is, the feature is unreliable. So if you set it in "normal" mode, it is repeatedly "detecting" that you have turned off the TV right in the middle of your program, and cuts power. You can alternatively set it in "always on" mode, which will prevent it from turning off in the middle of your favorite program. However, a different problem arises. The device will "detect" (usually around 3am) that you have turned on the TV, and start beeping loudly and annoyingly for you to enter the code. Why didn't they simply have another mode, where you could disable this idiotic "feature"? But you're stuck with it, and there's no way to disable it. Another beef.. The range of management options is extremely limited. In particular, you have to specify a number of hours/minutes each week or day for each user. These are automatically added to the user's allotment. So far, so good. But why does it have to be on a "use it or lose it" basis? No matter what you put in there, anything you have left over at the end of the day or week is wiped out, and there's no way to change that "feature". This is a great way to encourage the concept of saving in you children.

This has accomplished what we hoped for - helping the kids better self-monitor their TV time and remove us from the equation. Simple to use. Directions are also helpful though in suggesting implementation process with the kids.

This is flexible and easy to use. It has resolved our household video game problems.

Very easy to set up and use. Turned a daily fight into something manageable. Now, TV is a reward, and not a right.

The product works very well. I encountered one problem. Our TV has a 3-prong plug with the cord coming out at 90 degree angle from the plug. This type of plug will not fit in the cord lock of this device so I had to use an extension cord, which defeats the purpose of the lock.

I absolutely LOVE the BOB! Arguments over "Wii time" have disappeared and our 4 kids are finding ways to manage their time better - sharing times to get more play and saving time for longer play later... The device itself is simple to use and was easy to install and set up. I am so happy with my purchase!

Works very well but we wish it had the capibility to have each day programed individually for time allowed.
