Essential Info
High Definition Television (HDTV) is great, but for an optimal audio and visual experience it requires the use of HDMI cables to connect your high definition (HD) sources such as your HDTV receiver, XBox 360, Playstation 3, Blue-ray player, computer and audio/video receiver to your LCD, DLP or plasma screen HDTV. Unfortunately, most HDTVs weren't built to accommodate multiple HDMI connections. If you have one more HDMI device than you have available inputs on your TV, this HDMI video switcher is the answer. It is constructed of a compact, rugged metal housing that will allow you to connect up to five HDMI components to one HDMI port on your HDTV. You can manually switch between components using the front panel or by using the included infrared (IR) remote control you can switch between components from the comfort of you couch or bed. You can even use a third-party IR control system to operate the switcher. For added convenience, front panel LED indicators let you know which HD source is currently active. It is an all digital device that works with HDCP-compliant components, using HDMI 1.2a connections and it supports HD video resolution up to 1080p. A final feature that really sets this switcher apart from the competition is a gain adjustment switch, which allows you to provide extra power to your HDMI output if you are running your output cable over 15 feet in length. The IR remote control operates on two AA batteries, included.
