Essential Info
The Intelix HDMI-2X8 is more than just a standard two input, eight output High Definition (HD) audio/video (A/V) distribution amplifier. It features two independent inputs: an HDMI input as well as a DVI input with an optional digital SPDIF audio input or optical audio input. When the DVI and digital (or optical) audio source is selected, the HDMI-2X8 automatically converts the signal to HDMI format and routes it to eight HDMI outputs. Multiple HDMI-2X8 units can may be linked together for applications where more than eight outputs are required. It supports HD resolutions up to 1080p and is HDCP compliant. Depending on your application, it can be shelf mounted, or using the included rack-ears, it can be mounted in a standard 19" equipment rack. A typical application for this product would have an HDMI A/V feed from an cable or satellite receiver in on input as well as DVI and digital audio from a computer; both are routed to HDMI-2X8 and the signal is then distributed (in HDMI format) to multiple remote displays monitors and receivers. A control panel and LED indicator lights on the front panel make it easy to switch between sources and see active displays.
Important Note: When routing high-definition video, Intelix does not recommend using twisted pair extenders on the output of the HDMI-2X8, as the HDMI DDC and HDCP signals may be overly weakened.
