The Intelix DIGI-HD-4X8 provides an easy-to-use, flexible and powerful solution for distributing high-definition (HD) audio/video (AV) throughout your home. The system allows you to connect four HD AV sources to the main unit (switcher) via an HDMI connection. Those sources can then be distributed to eight different locations/rooms (zones) around your home. If the zones are relatively close you can use an HDMI cable. However, considering the distance it takes to travel from one room to another through the walls and ceiling, using longer HDMI cables isn't a very practical choice and does not allow for IR control from a remote location or zone. Alternatively, this matrix is also compatible with inexpensive Cat 5 cable*, sold separately, which can be used with compatible Intelix Cat 5 Twisted Pair Receivers (Baluns), also sold separately, that do allow for IR pass through communication as well so you can remotely control the sources from any zone the yare located. A remote control is included, but the matrix can also be controlled via a diagnostic front panel interface or via an RS232 or Ethernet connection. The matrix supports HD video up to 1080p/3D and is HDMI 1.3b compliant.
