Many new homes and office buildings already contain structured cabling systems of not only electrical and phone wiring, but also inexpensive cat. 5 twisted pair cable, which is commonly used as a data line. Now you can take maximum advantage of this existing wiring by adding a balun to each end. These small transformers convert audio and video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems. This means that you can run your signal over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring, rather than rewiring your home in order to send these signals from room to room. These 1-Way Video Baluns 1 BNC & 2 RCA to RJ45 are designed for use with security and surveillance monitoring, eliminating 75-ohm coaxial cable and sending composite baseband video and audio signals up to 2200 feet. The 1-Way Video Baluns 1 BNC & 2 RCA to RJ45 are designed to work in pairs; this kit includes two baluns.

Connection to the baluns is easy. Insert the video cable into the BNC connector and the audio cables into the RCA connectors. Use the second balun to connect to the BNC and RCA connectors of the destination equipment on the other end.
Because they contain isolation transformers and utilize twisted cabling, baluns eliminate the ground loops that cause background hum and rolling interference. Baluns also extend transmission distances, passively transmitting audio and video signals up to 2500 feet. In addition to this 1-Way Video Balun 1 BNC & 2 RCA to RJ45, a wide variety of audio and video baluns is available and sold separately.
