Essential Info
Many new homes and office buildings already contain structured cabling systems of not only electrical and phone wiring, but also inexpensive cat. 5 twisted pair cable, which is commonly used as a data line. Now you can take maximum advantage of this existing wiring by adding a balun to each end. This small transformer converts audio and video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems. This means that you can run your signal over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring, rather than rewiring your home in order to send these signals from room to room. This Component/Composite Video Balun RCA allows composite baseband video to be transmitted via a single cost-effective unshielded twisted pair cable up to 2200 feet. The Component/Composite Video Balun RCA is designed to work in pairs, but each is sold separately.

The Component/Composite Video Balun RCA is used with video equipment as well as CCTV security and surveillance equipment, such as cameras, monitors, DVRs, video sequencers, multiplexers, quads, switchers, camera servers and VCRs. Used in pairs, the RCA Component/Composite Video Baluns transmit standard NTSC, PAL or SECAM composite video.
Because they contain isolation transformers and utilize twisted cabling, baluns eliminate the ground loops that cause background hum and rolling interference. Baluns also extend transmission distances, passively transmitting audio and video signals up to 2500 feet. In addition to this Component/Composite Video Balun RCA, a wide variety of audio and video baluns is available and sold separately.
