Essential Info
Many new homes and office buildings already contain structured cabling systems of not only electrical and phone wiring, but also inexpensive cat. 5 twisted pair cable, which is commonly used as a data line. Now you can take maximum advantage of this existing wiring by adding a balun to each end. These small transformers convert audio and video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems. This means that you can run your signal over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring, rather than rewiring your home in order to send these signals from room to room. These Component/Composite Video Baluns BNC allow composite baseband red/green/blue (component) video to be transmitted via a single cost-effective unshielded twisted pair cable up to 500 feet. This pair of Component/Composite Video Balun BNC is designed to work together and are sold as a kit.

More Info
|
The Component/Composite Video Baluns BNC are connected to the structured cabling via a modular wall jack in the work area that can be mounted with the included tape. The baluns are equipped with three BNC connectors (red, green, blue) at one end and an RJ 45 jack at the other. Connection to the baluns is easy. Insert the red, green and blue connectors into the labeled ports and insert the UTP connector in the other end. Use the second balun to connect RGB cables to the destination equipment on the other end.
Because they contain isolation transformers and utilize twisted cabling, baluns eliminate the ground loops that cause background hum and rolling interference. Baluns also extend transmission distances, passively transmitting audio and video signals up to 2500 feet. In addition to this Component/Composite Video Balun BNC, a wide variety of audio and video baluns is available and sold separately.
