You can set it up easily with VideoEase™ CATV Baluns that allow one CATV, VHF and FM video signal to be transmitted over a single, twisted-pair cable (like Cat. 5) in a point-to-point connection. VideoEase CATV Baluns are ideal for RF distribution in any building that may already be wired with multiple runs cat. 5 cable. These include residential homes, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels and lecture halls. These baluns work in conjunction with CATV splitters, amplifiers and cable modems.
Depending on the type of signal you're sending, you may need an amplifier with tilt compensation. This is due to the fact that the higher the frequency, the more signal loss you may encounter. For example, when transmitting cable channel 2, you probably will have no signal loss. But if you're transmitting cable channel 60, you may experience some signal loss.
Specifications
VideoEase CATV Baluns support channels CATV 2-77, VHF 2-13 and the FM broadcast band. Maximum distance is 330 feet (100m) via Cat. 5. twisted-pair cable, depending on frequency. Bandwidth is 550MHz. Baluns include a built-in male "F" connector for coax and an RJ-45 connector for twisted-pair. FCC part 15 Class A and Class B.
Note: You'll need two VideoEase CATV Baluns — one for each end of cat. 5 cable. Baluns are sold individually.
