Get the most from your television entertainment experience with an HDTV digital tuner. While local-channel broadcasters make high-definition programming available to anyone, only those with an HDTV digital tuner are able to take advantage of the viewing benefits. The Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner is a high-definition tuner with selectable digital output modes, a digital on-screen guide, and Dolby Digital® sound capability. In most cases, the Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner will only work with an off-air antenna (sold separately). Use a coaxial cable (sold separately, but usually included with an off-air antenna) to connect an off-air antenna to the HDTV Tuner.

The Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner is designed to deliver high-quality output to an HDTV-ready television (sold separately). However, you can also connect this HDTV tuner to a regular analog set. While the picture quality won't be as good, it should be as good as, or better than, analog TV broadcasts.
There are several ways to connect the Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner to your TV. Different jacks and cables provide different levels of performance. Choose from composite video, S-video, or RGB (component), whichever matches your monitor's input jacks. The included RGB cable will provide the best possible connection; other cables are sold separately. Make the audio connection between the HDTV tuner and your television, monitor, or audio receiver using the included pair of RCA-type cables.
The Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner includes V-Chip software, so you'll be able to block certain types of programming unsuitable for children. This password-protected feature is easily bypassed for adult viewing. Add or delete channels from your Motorola ATSC HD Off-Air Tuner's lineup, or build a list of your favorite channels for easy surfing. Press "Info" on the included remote to view a banner on screen that provides information on the current channel number, network name, program name, current local date and time, and signal level and quality.
