Essential Info
Have you run out of inputs on your television or projector for all your latest (and greatest) video sources? But now you don't have to settle for using inferior connection methods including S-Video, composite, or the dreaded RF input thanks to this component video switch that preserves the pristine picture quality of DVD players, PVRs or HDTV set-top boxes. Most TVs only have one component video input and that's usually dedicated to a DVD player. But, if you have multiple products with component outputs, you'll either have to swap cables every time you want to watch a different source, or use a lower resolution input. While S-Video and component are OK for VCRs and analog cable boxes, there is a noticeable degradation when those inputs are used for digital sources. The following products commonly have component video outputs DVD Players Satellite Receivers Digital Cable Boxes HDTV Receivers Personal Video Recorders (ReplayTV and TiVo) Computers (when used with an RGB Video Converter)

More Info
|
The 4-Input Auto-Sensing Auto Switch accepts the high-bandwidth Y Pb Pr component video, stereo analog audio, and digital audio (in both optical and coaxial formats), and switches all audio and video signals simultaneously when a new source becomes active. If two sources are active at the same time, it gives priority to the source plugged into the lower number input. For example, some source components transmit a video carrier signal even when powered off. If such a source, like a satellite receiver, is always on, it should be given low priority (plugged into position #3 or #4). LEDs on the front panel indicate which source is currently active. In addition, a manual select button is provided to override the automatic selection.
While the 4-Input Auto-Sensing Auto Switch can easily switch traditional component video (standard definition 480i sources), it also handles the more demanding EDTV and HDTV formats. All HDTV formats, including the popular 1080i, 720p, and 540p are supported. It features wide-bandwidth switching, which ensures that all the details and resolution you've paid for comes across perfectly for your TV or projector.
The 4-Input Auto-Sensing Auto Switch also handles digital and analog stereo audio signals. Auto switching can also be selected by just the presence of audio. Additionally, the unit will automatically convert digital audio signals from optical to coax or from coax to optical. Analog stereo signals are passed straight through with no conversion to (or from) digital format.
