Essential Info
High-definition television provides crisp, clear images not available with standard cable or satellite imaging. But installing HDTV tuners in every room of your home that has a television set can become expensive; even more costly and difficult would be running component video and digital audio cabling from room to room. Now you can transmit HDTV signals over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring. Just two cat. 5 cables can deliver pristine HDTV signals to any room in the house, thanks to the HDTV Signal Distribution Kit, which incorporates the key signal paths necessary for effective audio and video entertainment, plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of AV components. An HDTV tuner is required to access high-definition signals and is sold separately. Cat. 5 cables are also sold separately.

The HDTV Signal Distribution Kit includes a Cat. 5 Driver, which distributes HDTV signals with astounding clarity and color fidelity up to 1000 feet from the source. This driver distributes component video, digital audio, and stereo analog audio to the two included wall plates; the RCA bus output may be used to feed HDTV signals to a local video display and/or sound system (sold separately). The wall plates also receive their power through the cat. 5 cabling, so there is no need for a power adapter at the wall plate.
Each wall plate will install easily in a standard dual-gang electrical box. Clearly labeled, color-coded, gold-plated YPbPr jacks on both the driver and wall plates ensure easy hookup and perfect signal transmission. A pass-through jack for cable, satellite or off-air antenna connections is provided for convenience. Each durable, stainless steel wall plate offers component video, digital audio and analog audio jacks.
You can also connect an IR remote control system input to the Driver IR output for a third-party IR remote distribution network over the cat. 5 pathway. By connecting an IR remote control system to the HDTV Signal Distribution system, you'll be able to control the source equipment from other rooms in the house. IR receiver and emitter equipment is required for this feature and is sold separately.
The HDTV Signal Distribution Kit provides reliable ground isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated with ground loops. Do you want to send HDTV signals to more than two locations in your home? The HDTV Signal Distribution Kit offers unlimited system expandability. Additional drivers and wall plates are sold separately.
