Before purchasing this splitter/amp unit, I was using a device I purchased from Home Depot. It was a single channel unit which I fed into a splitter arrangement. It worked fine, but when I needed to add a few more TV sets within my home, I decided to go with an “all in one” assembly, thinking it would be more efficient. The tech specs on this unit were great, so I opted for the added expense. It’s hot in Texas, and the attics are like ovens, but I braved the heat and went up there and installed this new unit, expecting all my old and newly added TV set to work great. No dice. Not only did the new ones not work well enough to program, the old ones were constantly tiling. I check and rechecked everything…no dice. So, I reinstalled the old one and things began to work again. As a retired RF engineer, I should have known that crap made in China was just that. My advice,- - - stick with U.S. or German technology.

I was having digital signal strength problems with my old 8-way splitter. This amplified splitter worked great and solved the problems.

Everything I plugged into it the picture was distorted. I ended up using 2 4 way amplifiers which worked very well. I feel like my money was waisted.

Seems to work well. Some distortion in audio in lower analog channels when viewed directly through TV. Excellent performance within Windows Media Center with ATI Digital Cable tuners. May investigate signal level control.

Good replacement for passive splitters. The antenna and modulator inputs are very useful. Could use a little more gain.

Simple to hookup. I was able to split signal to 8 sets and the picture seems crisp on all of them

I purchased this item because a similar amp from another company died a few years after I bought it. This amp allowed me to hook up my cable modem, TVs, and my high definition cable DVR with a good signal. I had previously had problems with signal levels (with no amp) with the HD DVR. The amp improved my reception with the DVR as well as all my TVs and VCRs. The cable modem signal improved by 6 Db. The instructions for the amp say to split the signal for the Cable Modem before the amp. I found it works fine after the amp and with a higher signal level. The DVR has interactive Video services from my cable company and all of these services work find using this amp. I also bought an extended warranty.
