Essential Info
An ultra-reliable security system means more than just monitoring possible entry ways into your home or business, it also means monitoring the perimeter of your property. The Enforcer Quad Photobeam Detector uses four infrared beams of light to create a detection barrier up to 660 feet in length when used outdoor (up to 1320 feet indoor). Ideal for monitoring your property line, this product features weatherproof construction, sunlight-filtering, anti-frost system and a built-in heater, making this product the perfect outdoor solution built to withstand harsh environmental conditions. The built-in laser beam alignment system and voltage testing points, decrease installation time while providing accurate, reliable positioning and extended range of the detector. There is even an LED alignment strength indicator to assist you with the setup. The lensed optics reinforce beam strength and provide excellent immunity to false alarms due to falling leaves, birds, inclement weather, etc., and the interruption time is adjustable for nearly all situations. It also offers normally closed/normally open alarm outputs in addition to a normally closed tamper circuit that can be used to communicate with your security system. Lastly, a selectable 4-channel beam frequency allows the sensor beam frequency to be set at different levels to avoid interference from other photobeam sensors nearby.

Adjusting the Delay Time The delay time adjustment knob sets how long the beam can be interrupted before triggering the alarm. A short delay time (high sensitivity) is suitable for catching fast moving intruders, but more susceptible to false alarms. A long delay time (low sensitivity) reduces false alarms, but fast moving intruders may not trigger the sensor.
Running the Wires Run a cable from the alarm control panel to the photobeam sensor. If burying the cable is required, make sure to use electrical conduit. 22-Gauge, 20-Guage, 18-Guage, or 17-Guage shielded cable is strongly suggested.
Weatherproof Construction Ingress Protection (IP) is rating for electronic products as it relates to the amount of sealing they have against the entry of solid and liquid objects. Complete details of this standard can be obtained from the IEC. This uniform and widely acknowledged classification system provides equipment designers and specifying agents with a convenient and reliable method of comparing relative levels of sealing between competing (connector) products. In its simplest form, the classification system consists of the letters "IP" followed by two separate digits, which denote increasingly greater sealing from solid objects and from water.
The Enforcer Quad Photobeam Detector has a rating of IP55. The first number '5' refers to the degree of protection against access to hazardous parts and ingress of solid objects. 5 is the next to the highest rating, "Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact". The second number '5' refers to the degree of protection against the ingress of water. 5 is one of the highest levels of protection, "Water projected by a nozzle against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects."
