Essential Info
The Enforcer Fail-Safe Electric Deadbolt can be used with your alarm system or through your intercom system to allow entry access control at the home or at the office. It can also be wired in with a digital keypad near the door to assure high security without the need for a key. The device has an open/close monitor that recognizes normally open (NO), closed (C), or normally closed (NC) status. An adjustable door lock delay timer will allow you to set the desired time in seconds before the door re-locks. A solenoid with automatically shut off if the door is not closed properly to prevent burning out. Fail-safe operation will unlock the door if power is lost. This product requires a 12VDC Power Supply, sold separately. Also available in a fail-secure version that locks when power is lost. Note: This product is not recommended for wooden door frames. However, the door can be wood or metal.

Fail-Safe
If the door can be opened when the power has failed to a door strike or deadbolt, we call this "Fail Safe." This means that people can come and go as needed when there is no power energizing a door. Fail-safe deadbolts are important on egress doors where people can be expected to leave a building during an emergency, such as a power outage.
