Using baluns for long cable runs makes sense. Cat5 wire is far less expensive than coax, and unlike coax, you can have up to 2000' of Cat5 with no signal loss. This PCI card set allows you to use a balun at the camera end and feed up to 8 video signals to DVR with the included adapter cable using short coax cables. The Power Distribution card installs adjacent to the balun card, and accepts 12VDC power from the included AC adapter. Split the Cat5 wiring, with the signal pairs going to the balun card and power pairs to the power card. The tri-color LEDs in the power jack indicate proper polarity and power present.

Note: requires a Passive VDP Balun at each camera.
