Essential Info

The Holland Electronics HMM-10H is a microprocessor controlled agile modulator (CATV ultraband and UHF) developed for use in adding satellite, VCR, DVD, or security video channels to an existing distribution system. It accepts one audio/video input source and modulates to a single RF output. The video modulator features push-button channel selectors, a three-digit LED channel display, and an easy setup. Coax cable, RCA audio/video cable, connectors/adapters/gender changers, splitters/combiners, and 3.5 mini audio connectors sold separately. The video modulator converts the signals from a single video device to a user-selected channel. The microprocessor-controlled, frequency-agile circuitry gives it drift-free performance and channel memory. The video modulator's compact size, push-button selectors, LED display, and easy setup make this a good modulator for more simple A/V distribution needs.

    I was trying to use it with some older and some newer TV's. Couldn't find a channel that would work with all of them. Would not work at all with lower channels (what it calls the cable setting). Returned it with no hassels.

    I work for a very large cable company. I needed a modulator to input my security cameras onto my TV's. Had a bad start in getting the unit to work with clear pictures. There was a lot of cross modulation going on. Did some investigation at work and found that the channels I was slecting had a digital signals imputed on the channels. Well in order to fix the problem, I had to go higher up on the channel bands. BINGO!! Found one that will work. Pictures looks very good. I am receiving pictures on every television set now. Hopfully no more imputing of digital signal on the higher channels will happen.

    Provides strong signal and great picture quality. Much better than the signal provided by built-in channel 3-4 modulators such as found in VCR's and satellite receivers. This unit allowed me to split and distribute a satellite receiver's output to 3 TV's with no degradation, which I could not do by amplifying and splitting the output of the receiver directly. Compact size is very nice for tucking away behind your other equipment. The unit has a "lock feature" to prevent the channel and other settings from being changed by an inadvertent button press. However, upon power-up the unit is automatically unlocked, meaning that a power outage will also unlock the unit, making the feature pretty much useless. No big deal, though. This is a great product, and is priced very well amongst similar units.

    This is the second Holland modulator that I've ordered from Smarthome. The most recent model has a nice upgrade in that it no longer requires jumper settings to change frequency bands. Overall it meets all my needs.

    It has many options beyond what I needed. Don't get me wrong. Options are better than no options. I'm impressed enough with it's options and performance to buy several more.     Product worked as described, but channel bandwidth appeared to be just a bit wide, affecting slightly more than the two adjecent stations. Product appeared to have better performace at lower channels than at higher ones.
