Essential Info

This amplifier works like a zero-loss splitter. The signals coming into the amplifier will be about 3dB stronger at the device (television, VCR, etc). The amplifier brings up the level of the signal just enough to overcome the losses associated with splitting the signal 8 ways and traveling down 100 to 150 feet of coax cable.This 3x8 Bi-Directional Distribution Panel offers a 5-42 MHz return path for bi-directional communication for use with digital cable interactive set-top boxes and cable modems. Power supply included.

This model includes an IR engine that will pass IR control signal over the coax cable between rooms or locations in the home. The 12-volt bi-directional IR engine works with the In-Wall IR Interface and a 12V IR Target. Each room can have one of these targets and the signals are routed to a Two IR Out, RF Video In Interface or a 4-Channel S-Video Modulator with MTS Stereo Sound.

This product works as described. I have 2 working together; one as a master and one as a slave. I have 2 modulated stations with a filter and it works great. This is the least expensive way to split multipule signals.

The product required DC blockers to avoid problems because of it's inclusion of remote IR power over coax which might not be compatible with some TVs. Those were obtained after receipt of this amplifier from another source and at additional time and cost.

It works as advertised. Gain may be a bit high for shorter cable runs, but this can be compensated with use of attenuaters in line. Build quality is excellent.

The perfect integrated solution to my digital CATV dsitribution problem. I eliminated a seperate single output amplifier and three 3-to-1 splitters and their asscoiated losses with this product! Great product. Could use a little more detailed intructions since there are so many ways it could be wired. Getting some interference on my modulated channels, but I don't think it's related to this item.
