Essential Info

You've downloaded all your favorite music, so why limit your listening pleasure to the hours you spend at your PC? Turn your PC into a music server with the Exstreamer 100, a network MP3 player for digital audio streaming. By connecting an Exstreamer 100 to your network-connected PC, web server, or local USB memory stick, you'll be able to play MP3, G.711, and PCM audio files over your local area network. This updated version of the original Exstreamer uses lead-free solder, so it meets EU requirements.

Using a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet connection, the Exstreamer 100 streams digital audio files from your PC to your stereo's powered speakers or to your network. The configurable Exstreamer 100 can be easily controlled via a web browser interface using web-connected PCs, web pads, PDAs or simply by an IR remote control (sold separately). The Exstreamer 100 is perfect for multiroom distributed audio systems as well as for commercial audio streaming applications since it supports various control and communication modes. Software developers can easily write audio applications using one of the well-documented Ethernet, serial or web based interfaces. To enjoy all of your favorite music, all the Exstreamer 100 requires is a PC and cat.5 cabling. Need connection cables? A set of four is available in a kit that includes a cat. 5 patch cable, an RS-232 network cable, an RCA cable, and earbud-style headphones with a 3.5mm jack.

The Exstreamer 100 is compatible with any dedicated music server that offers a standard web/http interface, or it can also be fed with a TCP data stream. You may adjust your settings for the control ports, IR source and IR gateway properties; simply define the ports on which the device will receive commands via UDP and TCP. The Exstreamer 100 can also be integrated into various control applications and home automation systems.

For use with a wireless LAN, try the Exstreamer Wireless. For digital output and best possible sound, try the Exstreamer Digital. The Instreamer converts analog and digital audio into MP3 streams and serves the network just like an ordinary Internet radio station. You can even add a Barix IR Remote for ease of use.

    Reviews

"The Exstreamer, and its sister The Instreamer are excellent products. There is a learning curve you must overcome in order to configure the units for your particular application, but once configured the system is flawless. Barix is very helpful if needed." - DANIEL - HOUSTON, TX
"I am a very technical person, but don't always want to deal with something so complicated. I think the software is really the low point of the Exstreamer. The other dislike is the web interface is almost unusable on a Pocket PC, which was really the reason I decided to go with the extreamer, otherwise the apple air port express with itunes." - JOSHUA - CEDAR RAPIDS, IA
"Works as advertised. A great product for remote audio over an IP network." - LEONARD - HAYWARD, CA
