Are you tired of false alarms from your outdoor motion sensors? Does it seem like pigeons flying by and leaves blowing in the wind set it off? The solution is to use more than one technology in the sensor. Optex designed this HX-80NAM to be mounted 8 to 10 feet off the ground, eliminating some of the ground clutter, and added two infrared sensors, one aimed high and one aimed low. Both must detect a person in order to trigger an alarm; animals will be sensed by only the low sensor, and thus not trigger an alarm. The sensor beams are sharply defined and can be fine-tuned to cover exactly the coverage area needed. Set the detection range to eliminate triggers by passing cars or people on a sidewalk. There's a tamper switch and aux input, so you can tie two motion sensors together and require both to sense an intruder before sounding an alarm. Digital Anti-Masking prevents disabling the PIR by placing an object in front of it; if anything is placed too close to the lens for more than 180 seconds, a trouble alarm is triggered. Also available without anti-masking technology.
