Essential Info
This surveillance camera can receive its power via an Ethernet cable (Power over Ethernet - PoE) or from a normal DC power jack. Using just one cable for power, video feed, and two-way audio simplifies your installation. The 2-megapixel CMOS image sensor sends images at better than HDTV quality. There's a built-in microphone so you may listen in to whatever is happening in the camera's field of view, and you may plug in a speaker if you would also like to talk. The H.264 compression technology drastically reduces file sizes and conserves network bandwidth. An advanced Quality of Service (QoS) mode will prioritize traffic and guarantee a certain level of performance to the data flow, and will control the amount of bandwidth each application may use, thus providing higher reliability and stability on the network. There's motion sensing that can send you an email when movement is detected, and there is tamper detection to immediately let you know if anyone attempts to redirect, block, change focus, or spray paint the lens. A feature called ePTZ allows you to mount the camera rigidly but still zoom in or out and select different views, within the confines of the viewing angle. The utility software included allows up to 20 users to monitor the camera simultaneously, and up to 64 channels, as well as control the camera remotely. Learn more about IP Cameras.

Connect to a Digital Video Recorder Old video surveillance systems used to require a remote access system, a camera multiplexer; a time-lapse VCR, and an unlimited supply of videotapes for remote viewing and digitally storing video from a multi-camera system. Now you can get the capabilities of all those products in one with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR). By connecting multiple cameras to a DVR, you will be able to record and review video footage of activity around your property. You can even remotely access your video footage using a Network Digital Video Recorder (NDVR).
Lux Lux rating is the amount of minimum illumination that a camera can have and still pick up an image, 0 being the lowest, or no light. So the closer the lux rating is to 0, the better the camera will operate in no light or low light situations. The 2 Megapixel 10/100 Mbps PoE IP Network Camera can pick up images in 0.1 lux.
Resolution Resolution is the amount of horizontal TV lines that make up a picture, so the higher the number of the resolution, the better clarity your picture will have. Note that the monitor or recording device you use must have a resolution equal to or greater than the resolution of the camera, as it will do you no good to have a camera that can output in 540 lines of resolution but have a monitor or recording devices that only picks up images at 300 lines of resolution. The 2 Megapixel 10/100 Mbps PoE IP Network Camera has 1200 lines of resolution, even better than full HD resolution.
