This dome camera is like the Swiss Army knife of cameras. You want ease of installation? One simple Ethernet connection provides video/audio feed and powers the camera. You need clear images both day and night? Built-in IR illuminator LEDs ensure good images in total darkness. You want to conserve video storage? The built-in PIR sensor can tell the recorder to save files only when motion is detected. You want the highest-possible-security video? The camera packs a lot of features into its small size (145mm, 5.7" diameter), like a vari-focus lens, two-way audio capability, built-in IR illumination, and a passive infrared motion sensor. Since it's powered by the Ethernet cable, you need not be concerned if there's no power outlet nearby.
The built-in PIR motion sensor can let the camera remain dormant until people move within its sensing area, with a range of up to 5m (16.4'). Upon activation, the IR LEDs will turn on and tell your recorder to begin recording. It can also send an email alert or send captured images via FTP to a designated server.
