The doormat chime seemed just the thing to alert my mom if my dad who has Alzheimer's were to attempt to leave their assisted-living room at night. However, due to the incompleteness of the instructions that came with it, even with the effort of the helpline representative, my husband and I were unable to determine how to set it up--and so, we returned it.

This product works just as described. Now we do not have to guess when our Beagle is at the front door wanting out. We just laid a rug over it and it works like a charm. The only thing I don't like is trying to hide the chime pack that is attached to the mat.
