We Live with (and Love) this Camera:
We use a bunch of these cameras in our warehouse and office areas at our headquarters (and in many employee homes). The pan and tilt works great and the picture is clear. The range is exceptional (we actually forgot to screw on the antenna in one of our locations and the product STILL worked). Night vision is great - if something moves in our warehouse after hours, we know about it! We use it with INSTEON apps, HouseLinc, tinyCam Monitor PRO and many other apps - and it works great.

    What Goes Bump in the Night?
    Whether you're worried about what animals have decided to occupy your yard in the evening or are concerned more about the two-legged variety trying to enter your home, the INSTEON Wireless Security IP Camera has you covered. The camera features 11 infrared LEDs that can provide 8 meters (26 feet) of visibility in absolute darkness. It transmits high quality video images at 30 frames per second on your local or wireless network by using MJPEG hardware compression technology. You can also receive digital images via email when motion has been detected at a resolution of 640 x 480 (300k Pixels).

    User Interface
    The camera features an easy to use graphical interface that is accessible from any standard browser anywhere in the world over the Internet. It has password protection as well as the ability for multiple users to view and control up to 9 cameras at one time. The camera is based on the TCP/IP standard and the control, management and maintenance of the camera is done simply by using your web browser to adjust the configurations.




    INSTEON Hub Compatibility
    Why settle for just camera control when you can also control the lights, adjust temperature and more all from your smartphone? The INSTEON Hub makes it possible to view a live camera feed of your home, adjust the lights, set temperature and set motion and leak sensor alerts - making your very own monitoring system - all with no monthly fees. The INSTEON for Hub app provides setup video instructions and automatically configures your router for remote access and control.

    HouseLinc Compatibility
    HouseLinc home control software also makes configuring the INSTEON Wireless Security IP Camera as easy as a few mouse clicks. With HouseLinc, you can include IP camera images as part of a triggered or conditional event.
    Here are just a few of the exciting ways pairing the INSTEON Wireless Security IP Camera with SmartLinc or HouseLinc can give you added convenience and peace of mind:

    • Who is coming and going in your garage? Use the I/O Linc - INSTEON Garage Door Control & Status Kit with the INSTEON Wireless Security IP Camera to not only be alerted that your garage door has been opened or closed, but to also trigger an email with a photo of your garage interior.
    9dbi Wi-Fi Antenna While the camera does include a Wi-Fi Antenna (3dbi) that will deliver an exceptional, clear video signal, this 9dbi Wi-Fi Antenna (sold separately) antenna will allow you to receive that same great video signal from greater distances. Optionally, you can use this antenna to increase the signal reliability of your wireless camera for added piece of mind. The base connector of the antenna simply screws on to the camera antenna receptacle, and will pivot and rotate into your desired position to receive the optimal signal from the camera.

    Note: Smarthome recommends that you research your local and state laws related to audio and video surveillance before implementing this product. Also, if your network uses a router provided by your cable or satellite provider (such as AT&T U-Verse's 2Wire Router), please contact your provider for instructions on port forwarding to insure a smooth installation of this product.

    Camera has worked well so far, easy to set up for basic functionality. Have not had success running with firefox. Also the camera will not continuously scan, can be programmed for up to 10 cycles only.

    Had it set up in minutes. After the initial IP address, you have to know what you are doing with routers. The manual could be a bit more specific. Tech support was very helpful and knowledgeable.

    I love the camera and as long as you follow the step by step instructions the installation went well. I like this camera better than my Panasonic cameras because they do not have the infra red night lighting which works great.

    This is easy to program and works seamlessly in my Insteon environment. The tech support on the phone was the difference, however. The manual, mainly because we all use different routers, is not really useful, but Tech Support guidance makes it all happen.

    Fantastic! bang for the buck is incredible. Had expensive panasonic cams that do not perform as well. Clear pic and effective infrared night vision. Going to replace all my Panasonic cams with this one

    This camera works as advertised. My only complaint is that SmartHome doesn't provide an iPhone app to control the camera remotely. I ended up downloading a third party app that was recommended by the tech that helped me get it set up.

    Every feature works perfectly. When setting up the wireless you need to remember that you can't use the wired connection IP, you need to look at your router's 'connected devices' list to learn the wireless IP address! I was pleased that the iPhone app I got (Live Cam's Pro) works great with a nice clear picture and remote control. Even the talk and listen features are supported.

    Really slick little camera that was very easy to setup. I ended up giving it a static IP address so that I could connect to it from the public Internet (firewall changes needed). Anytime I want to check the front porch, I can just pop open my phone and connect to it. Next project is to add an INSTEON motion detector to it and have it email me a picture whenever motion is detected on the front porch. For the price, this little guy is hard to beat!

    Pro: Good product for the price. Easy setup if you are familiar with networking. Con: Built-in speaker has no control over the volume on the camera. Annoying if someone connects and can't adjust the volume.

    Worked fine on my computer and smart phone at home. Away from home, can not log on at all. Somehow it turned the motion alarm sensor on, as it was off when we left. Have received over a thousand emails with pics, since it turned itself on. Can't log on away from home to shut the thing off. Make sure you set up a different email to receive alarm pics, for this very reason. Hope I can figure it out when I get home.

    The camera was nice. it was easy to configure inside my private internet. However I was not successful at configuring it so I could access it from a device that was not part of my local internet. I called customer server, but they were not really any help. Well they did point me to a product I could buy which would do the configuration for me. Note, I am a computer engineer and understand most thing regarding routers and IP addresses, but was unable to get the camera to work property.

    Camera actually works pretty well but the setup is a bear. Fundamental wired setpu was easy enough but the wifi setup took hours to discover what the tech support should have known. Basically, after configuring wifi the user must do a power down reset/reboot of the camera to get the device working. I ended up sending a good unit back becasue the tech didnt know how the device worked. Another issue is setting up the web access. Basically the instructions are very limited and the problem is big and as yet unsolved. Bottom line is the unit works well for the price but the sweat equity to install the unit is probably not worth it.

    I got this on sale for X-mas. Set it up and It works great. A little difficult to set the wireless and remote settings but once done I can see my living room from anywhere in the world. If you want to use the free app for smartphone you have to buy the Insteon controller which cost $100. If you don't know anything about IP addresses you are going to need help from a Computer Tech friend to help you set it up although the Instructions clearly explain everything. I may be buying another one for my birthday. This camera does not record but if motion detection is activated it sends a series of snapshots to your e-mail.

    So far it is working fine. Good night vision and the PTZ works great. I will be looking to buy another one if Smarthome puts it back on sale. If they don't you can buy it cheaper at other places since this camera can be bought at other dealers with a different name on it but the same camera. I would have given it 5 stars but I have not had it long enough to verify that it will last.
