The Smart Energy Switch gives you on/off control from your Z-Wave network and energy monitoring in one, easy-to-use plug-in device. Connect the Smart Energy Switch into an electrical outlet and then plug in any lamp or plug-in appliance. Once the Smart Energy Switch is added to your network, you can turn it on and off from any of your Z-Wave compatible controllers. The connected lamp or appliance can also be controlled locally from the Smart Energy Switch itself. Its sleek design hangs from the wall like any normal cord so as not to obstruct other outlets. It also works as a signal repeater, resending commands intended for other devices and increasing the reliability of your network. With a Z-Wave compatible gateway and software program, you’ll also be able to monitor the energy usage of the connected appliance. Energy information is reported in wattage and kilowatt hours.
