Just like the higher priced keypads, this one allows you to enter your code or access any of the system functions via the number pad hidden behind the flip-down panel. Plus, five programmable function keys and six emergency keys allow one-touch access to system functions, or even police and fire assistance (provided the system is monitored by a professional monitoring company). Its three status LEDs let you know the system status at a glance. If no button has been pressed for 30 seconds, the unit displays the current time, so you'll always know the time.
The keypad connects to the main control panel via a 4-wire bus connection. A fifth terminal can be connected to any zone input -- perfect for connecting door or window contacts to the main control panel without having to run dedicated wire. Other features include the ability to sound one of four distinct tones when any zone, or group of zones, is breached.
The keypad comes with four mounting screws, an inner door label and a set of Fire, Aux and Panic key labels. Note: These keypads can't be used to program the security system, so you'll still need at least one LCD alphanumeric keypad per system.
