Essential Info
Often people think that retrofitting their old garage door involves a lot of hassle, since most retrofit kits have a box that contains the circuitry, plus the AC adapter "brick" that would need to be mounted somewhere near the opener. Linear Corporation has created a one-channel universal receiver that has everything contained in the AC adapter, so you can just plug the unit into the same outlet as the opener. Then you simply run a single two-conductor wire from the MDR/U to your push-button input.

More Info
|
This receiver makes any garage door operator compatible with MegaCode transmitters, which features over one million radio codes to all but eliminate any possibility of code duplication. With this updated system, you'll also be able to use the newer gadgetry that your old opener couldn't allow, such as keypads and keyfob transmitters. Two-conductor wire is required but sold separately.
