Essential Info

Get some added peace of mind when you go to bed at night with an electronic monitor that lets you know if your garage door is open or closed from anywhere in your home. This Wireless Garage Door Sensor sends a signal to a receiver in your home, alerting you whenever the status of your garage door changes, so you'll know at a glance if your home is vulnerable. The Garage Door Sensor is powered by an AC adapter and 2 lithium batteries, which are included.

Simply attach the battery-powered sensor to the inside of your garage door with the included double-stick tape or screws. Then place the wireless receiver anywhere in your home within 150 feet of the garage door sensor and plug it into an AC outlet with the included adapter. The next time your garage door goes up or down, the optical sensor switch inside the sensor will send a radio signal to the receiver to update its alert position.

The green LED on the receiver glows anytime the garage door is closed, and the red light flashes when the garage door is open. The receiver also beeps every time there's a change in your garage door status, so even if you're too far away from the door to hear it open, the Wireless Garage Door Sensor always lets you know when a loved one has arrived home.

Have multiple garages attached to your home? Extra sensors are available to be purchased separately. The Wireless Garage Door Sensor's receiver can monitor up to four separate garage sensors.

I had a lot of trouble and spent a few hours getting the sentry to work initally. I finally replaced the reflective piece with some other reflective material that I had, and it now works like a charm. Some people had worried whether the transmitter would remain in place with the sticky tape that comes with the unit. After I tried to remove the unit a couple of times I feel confident it will remain in place.
