The system is perfect for protecting homes, businesses or institutional buildings (i.e. clinics, schools, museums, etc.). It installs onto any door equipped with an electromagnetic lock or doorstrike (sold separately).
Programming individual cards takes just seconds! You can also de-activate cards just as fast, in the event an authorized user loses a card, or if you decide to deny access at a later date (i.e. a fired employee).
The length of time you want the door to remain unlocked after a successful swipe is adjustable (anywhere from 0.5 to 5,000 seconds). You can also choose how the system responds in the event of a power outage: fail safe (unlocked when power is removed) or fail secure (locked when power is removed). EEPROM memory retains all programming and card data when the unit is not powered.
The Magnetic Card Reader requires 12VAC or 12VDC and comes with 10 ft. of black, white, gray twin flex cable, and enough supplies to program 100 cards. To control higher current loads (beyond the 1/2 amp the controller can directly control), use the #7278 Single Relay Board, which handles up to 10 amps at 125VAC.
Fully waterproof and backed by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. Compatible with any standard Track II magstripe card. Works with all 12V doorstrikes and deadbolts offered by Smarthome (doorstrikes and deadbolts sold separately).
