Essential Info

Monitor doors and windows with this improved Long Range Wireless Door / Window Sensor. It has a longer range and longer battery life than the standard door / window sensor. Magnetic contacts can be replaced with most NC (normally closed) sensors sold at Smarthome. The Long Range Wireless Door / Window Sensor cannot be switched to NO (normally open) sensor capability. Requires 2 AA Batteries (sold separately).

Please note: this unit does not directly send X10 signals — it must be used with the security console.

    I have a number of these sensors on my doors but decided to add them to my back windows. They work well with my current X-10 system. Prior to my use of sensors I had several break-ins. Since I installed them, no more problems. They work great but you should change batteries every two or three years.

    I was disappointed in the limited range of these units. A sensor 45'from the base unit in one direction, and two sensors 35' from the base in the other direction, would frequently fail in their attempts to report. I had to use two PSX01 RF repeaters to relay the signals from these sensors.

    I purchased the entire 19 piece home security system and the motion sensors were faulty. Sometimes they worked at close range and they failed completely at other times. I returned them!

    LONG RANGE?? LOL... yeah if you don't go over 20' from the base unit. A good product BUT the range seriously sucks. Looking to modify or extend signal range. IF these could hit a 50' distance with some obstructions doors, walls etc I would give it 6 stars. Hell if they could hit 30' with some obstructions I would give it 5 stars.
