Whether you use a motion sensor to trigger your alarm system or to turn on lights, it's important to install a device that will sense and respond quickly and accurately. The COSMoS DT Series Dual Technology PIR Motion Detector combines two proven motion detector technologies in one package, integrating PIR and microwave for accurate discrimination between intruders and potential false alarms. Both technologies must verify an intrusion for the alarm to be activated. The microwave range is user adjustable to make it suitable for all size rooms or the entire premises.
Hands-On Research:
When testing this product I found it very easy to install and very user friendly. I used the included wall mount bracket to mount the unit, however, you can mount the unit in a corner with the corner mount swivel bracket if you desire.

Dual TechnologiesThis product uses both infrared and microwave channels to improve false alarm immunity. This also helps solve your installation problems as well. The IR responds to changes in the ambient thermal radiation caused when an intruder crosses the protected area. The MW transmits signals and analyzes the reflected echo frequency changes caused by an intruder due to the Doppler Effect. An alarm is initiated only when both technologies trigger simultaneously. Detection occurs only in areas where IR and MW patterns overlap, greatly reducing the chance of false alarms.
